Puget Inspect — Home & Commercial Inspections

SEWER SCOPE

A closer look.
Below the surface.

A sewer scope uses a camera to review the accessible main sewer lateral—the line often called a side sewer in the Seattle area.

SERVICE PRICING

$200

Service fee. Confirm access to the main sewer lateral and the agreed camera review scope when booking.

What the camera can help reveal.

The review looks for visible root intrusion, cracks, low spots, and obstructions along the inspected route. Seattle Public Utilities identifies video inspection as a way to investigate side-sewer problems. Read the city’s side-sewer guidance ↗

Before the visit.

Tell us about known backups, prior repairs, shared sewer arrangements, and the location of any accessible cleanout. We confirm the access point, inspection route, and deliverables before booking.

A camera review has limits.

Obstructions, standing water, bends, and inaccessible sections can limit what is visible. The scope does not include excavation, drain clearing, repairs, or a guarantee against future backups. A plumber or sewer contractor may be recommended for further investigation.

Schedule a sewer scope.

Confirm access and the agreed scope when booking.
